The Dream Day created by Get

The Norwegian Ice Hockey Federation collaborated with their main sponsor Get to create a dream day for a lucky hockey team. Why? To give back to the community within Norwegian Ice Hockey.

The Norwegian Internet Service Company Get has been the main sponsor of the biggest, Norwegian Ice Hockey league for years. They’ve been associated with Norwegian Ice Hockey for years, and some might even say they have contributed with a huge amount of exposure towards the sport. Since 2004 they have been a great economic support for the federation and sport, as they support both the professional sport and the recruitment of young players. Get say they have experienced a great evolution regarding new venues for both the elite player and the recruitment, together with an increased interest; from the audience, supporters and the media.

This fall the Federation and Get got together to create a campaign through SocialCee. The main idea behind the launch of the campaign was to create a “Dream Day” for young hockey players all over the country. Get would create an all-expenses-paid dreamy weekend for the winning team: an exclusive training on ice with the National Coach, front row seats to an international hockey match, dinner at a great restaurant and a night at a hotel. So when the campaign launched, a huge number of young hockey teams nominated their own team for the competition by uploading a team photo to the campaign.

When the campaign launched online, it became popular quite fast. As Get distributed it at their own homepage, in their newsletters and on their Social Media channels, it got out quickly. When the nomination part of the campaign ended, the campaign had reached almost 150 nominated teams! When this part of the campaign ended, the voting started. In this part of the campaign, Get opened for participants to vote on the team they thought deserved to win. Closer to 28.000 votes got registered when voting for their favorite team!

Get’s campaign with the Norwegian Ice Hockey Federation is a good example of how SocialCee’s campaign tools could be made to satisfy a brands needs. With this campaign, it was all about creating something great for the younger players – which is what Get is all about in their sponsorship with the Federation.

—————–

How to include Customer Insights Tool in your marketing

Brands operate on multiple Social Media platforms. On these platforms, the brands gather together followers from all over the world. You might have hundreds, thousands of them. But who are they really? Do you really know your followers and customers? How do you communicate with them?

One of the greatest tools in the SocialCee App is the Customers Insights Tool. This is a great way of discovering your new marketing weapon: the knowledge of your customers.

“Knowledge is power”

The more you know about your customers, the more valuable your marketing will be. To target your biggest and best audience is the key to big changes for your marketing strategy. SocialCee has just the right tool to achieve your goals – the Customer Insights Tool. Making campaigns and marketing activities in SocialCee, your brand will collect valuable information as the participants take part in your campaigns.

Once you have created a campaign, it’s easy to collect the data from the participants. It’s also easy to export the data to your own database of information – for example Lime or any other software. The Customer Insights Tool in SocialCee will give you a complete view of all your contacts – but there is something much more valuable in store for you as well.

Once you find all your contacts in SocialCee, you’re able to explore your followers even more. Every customer have their own “customer card”, which collect valuable information. For example you’re able to see how active the follower are regarding your campaigns. How many of them are they taking part in? What kind of attention are they giving your brand? The Customer Card will give you all the information you’ll need.

Let’s get back to how to use this information.

We wrote about the huge change in Facebook’s feed last week. We talked about how it’s gonna change dramatically, but we also talked about how you could reach out to your audience in another way. One of the major things we brought up, was the alternative ways  to interact with your customers.

Customers Insights are the key to…

… communication! The insights give you the golden key to be able to interact and communicate with your customers in a whole new way.

  • Use the information collected through the campaigns in SocialCee to create a weekly or monthly newsletter to interact with your customers and followers.

Many of the customers of SocialCee are brands operating within the Sports Market. It’s brands selling tickets, souvenirs, clothing and other gadgets. That’s why many of these brands communicate with their customers through email based newsletter. Once a week or once a month they inform their customers about great deals, news about season tickets to their home stadium, new launches of clothing and gear, etc. This is a great way of increasing sales and income for your brand.

What information are valuable to your brand?

Creating a campaign in SocialCee, you’re able to choose which kind of information you want to know about your customers and followers. This makes it possible for your brand to collect phone numbers as well as email addresses.

  • Use the information collected to advertise through SMS directly to your customers.

Direct messages through text messages are a popular way to advertise your brand. It’s a great way to interact with your customers in a highly exposed way. Remember to keep the balance in your marketing – don’t hit the send button too often. At the same time we advice your brand to study up on the rules regarding the privacy of your customers – remember to keep your terms and conditions according to the rules of marketing.

The Customer Insights Tool are just one of many great tools in the SocialCee app. There are so many options for your brand to expand, to communicate even better and to make more money. If you want to know more about what SocialCee can provide you with, check out our homepage.

The Norwegian Handball Team’s Jersey Auction

During the World Championship this December, the Norwegian Handball Team arranged an auction through SocialCee to sell the used jerseys from the championship. The money they earned from the many bids goes to the good work with younger players in the federation.

In Norway the Handball Championships has turned into a tradition. As the Norwegian Handball Ladies travels to another championship, the Norwegians gathers in front of the television to watch some of the world’s best players in another championship. Some might say that our Christmas Spirit and the yearly championships goes hand in hand. When the games are streamed live on TV, about one million viewers watch the games. Some might say the players gathers  the people.

And that might be a good reason to why the team has had such success with the Auction Campaign through SocialCee. The Handball Team created an Auction Campaign to sell signed and used jerseys from this years World Championship. The campaign was active during the whole championship, allowing the users and participants to place their bid as the championship evolved. In this way, the auction became more and more relevant to the fans.

The jerseys the players wear during the games, are of high value to many fans. So when the team launched an auction to sell their jerseys, the participants of the campaign turned their money to good use. Some objects in the campaign even had double digits bids even before the campaign was closed. It’s no secret that the team earned a lot of money running this campaign. But how does the brand turn this money to good use? The national federation use the money they earn on these kinds of campaigns to the federations’s work regarding the younger players in Norway. In that way, the top notch players are able to give back to the community with this campaign – and so are the federation.

We are pleased to inform you all that SocialCee has now launched three new and very exciting features and campaigns! This allows our customers and clients to create even more exciting and creative campaigns for their followers and supporters. Let us introduce you to the new features in our toolbox.

First of all, there is the Scratch Card. We all know them. And at some point in our life, we have enjoyed a exciting scratch card. Maybe to win a great amount of money, or some other fun prize! With SocialCee, you are now able to create your own Scratch Card. Create a Scratch Card which is assosiated with your brand and which triggers your followers and customers to enjoy an exciting competition. This is an example campaign we created for the Norwegian football club Molde. Check out the campaign here.

Second, there is the Slot Machine. Most of us also knows this one from earlier on. You are able to create a fun spin-and-win-campaign for your followers – and as they spin it, they’ll have the chance to win exciting prizes from your brand. This might be a good way to include your sponsors or partners, as they would have gotten their logo placed in the campaign and their products exposed to your brands followers and customers. As any other campaign in the SocialCee toolbox, it’s an easy campaign to set up for your brand.

Last, we have the Wall Post Competition. You see them all the time. Brands doing exciting competitions on their Facebook Page. This campaign allows you to do just that. This makes it super easy for you as a brand to host a competition on your Social Media: just because you have this tool. When the competition ends, you’ll easily be able to pick a winner from the participants with our easy tools. And hey, if you’re planning on running a competition on Facebook, be sure to read the rules regarding competitions on Facebook here.

Norway’s most popular Hockey Team with record auction!

One of our most popular campaigns, the Auction, has gone through the roof for one of the biggest hockey clubs in Norway: Vålerenga Icehockey. They launched their campaign on Facebook with 26 available jerseys to sell. 26 jerseys are sold, and a lot of money earned.

The Norwegian Icehockey Team Vålerenga has a long tradition as a sports club. In Norway we know the club as a successful club in both football and ice hockey. The popular ice hockey club has been a customer of SocialCee for some time now, as one of the clubs with the biggest reputation and fanbase. So when the team lauched their Auction Campaign through SocialCee, the products got quickly attention from the fans.

As the team launched their auction on Facebook, they had 26 jerseys to auction off to their fans. This was jerseys from many of the teams bigget players: names like Ylven, Lyngset, Ask and Cizar has been huge names in the Norwegian Ice Hockey League for years. And when Vålerenga got their own realityshow “The Ice warriors” on Norwegian Television, their popularity went through the roof. No wonder the products generated some record amounts.

From the 1st to the 10th of December, the campaign was active on the team’s Facebook Page. Here supporters was able to place their bid on the jersey they had dreamt of for a long time. The jerseys was from last years season and each jersey had spent it’s fear amount of time on the ice.

How the Norwegian Professional League for Football Clubs use the Calendar Campaign

In Norway, the biggest professional league for assosiation football clubs is named Eliteserien. The league is at the top of the Norwegian football league system, and is Norway’s primary football competition. For December, they created a Calendar Campaign to engage their supporters.

As the month of December came closer and closer, Eliteserien created a Calendar Campaign using SocialCee. The 1st of December, the football league launched the campaign on all their plattforms. On their Facebook Page, the campaign has been inserted as an own tab, and at their homepage the campaign is the first thing that you’ll see entering the page. This is a great example on how the Calendar Campaign should be distributed to the brands’ followers and supporters. And at the same time as the campaign is exposed on all plattforms, the football league is exceptionally good at reminding their followers about the campaign. In that way, they will achieve one of the main goals of this campaign: to let people know it is out there.

In SocialCee, the Calendar Campaign is designed to look the way you want it to look. Because of this, you are able to adjust the campaign in any way you want – just to make it fit your own brand and identity. Eliteserien had great success with implementing their own look and identity to their campaign. As you enter their campaign, the very first thing you willsee, is the logo of Eliteserien. The same goes for the brand’s colors and fonts. In that way, they are able to expose their own brand and identity in the campaign. This is important to every customer of SocialCee – the fact that any campaign allows them to expose their own look and identity.

Eliteserien has managed to make their campaign relevant to all of the brand’s followers. In the 24 different calendar windows, there are questions related to each participating club in the league. For example is the calendar window of the 4th of December related to the football club of Tromsø. The question is about the club, and the prize is two season tickets to the club. In this way, Eliteserien is able to engage every supporter of every club in the league. As the league has to be objective regarding the clubs, this is a great way of showing the supporters of every club how they will include all their fans in their campaign and marketing activies. And when Eliteserien is able to engage any supporter of any club in the league, they will get to know different kinds of supporters of their brand.

Norwegian handball club connects with their fans with SocialCee

Since 2013 the Champions Leauge Club Elverum Handball has used social media to connect with their fans and generate revenue by offering new “social” products to their fans and partners.

“We saw early that our social media presence could give our partner new opportunities to cobrand and reach our supporters with their message. Elverum Handball was one of the first clubs to generate revenue from our partners with integrated social media campaigns.” Says Kalle Björkman former right wing and club legend, now working as Head of Commercial at the club. Kalle Bjørkman

Kalle Bjørkman

Elverum Handball is a big club in Norway, but with its rural location in the eastern parts of Norway, in the small town of Elverum, they need a special focus generating revenue from on both fans and sponsors. In their effort to give supporters ownership to the club and players they have several times launched crowdfunding campaigns on social media, generating several hundred thousand euros over the last 2-3 seasons.

“Building a CL club in a small economy enforces innovative thinking and long term strategies for B2B and B2F (Business to Fans) marketing and product development. An important part of this has been to use social media to fill the stadium, entertain and create a closer relationship between the club, its players and the fans.”

More than 50% of the people living in the small town of Elverum follows Elverum Handball on Facebook. The upcoming season the goal is to increase the fan base and get reach outside their core region. To be able to do this the club is now improving their fan communication by launching B2F CRM base, revamped newsletter subscription and new social media campaigns to generate more fan data.

“Social media is key to generate revenue from fans and partners, get supporter data and help us build high quality CRM. Social media in European Handball Championship for men

The 15th to 31st of January was the time where the European Handball Championship for men took place in Poland. Norway have the last 10 years done major progress in the menns league – but never really reached the top. This time it was finally their time to shine, and so they did. After a thriller of a semi finale – they finally had to accept the 4th place – but it being the best results in menns  Norwegian handball history ever, made the 4th place feel like a victory!

As a textbook example on great social media marketing, The Norwegian Handball association was constantly working in the social media throughout the whole championship. By producing activities like “Guess the score” campaigns before the matches, “Vote for the best player” campaigns during the match, and a jersey auction through the whole championship – they managed to raise 60 000 NOK and gain 20% new followers.  All the money raised was given to the “Right to play” Uganda project – where the goal is to raise the financing of 2 new handball stadiums + gear and instructors.

Sports funded by fans

One of the major constraints semiprofessional leagues in the Nordics is to raise enough money to develop their teams and club. Social media makes it easier to get close to supporters and one of the core concepts in the Professional Sports offering from SocialCee is Crowdfunding.

With the “Crowdfunding” campaign from SocialCee, the supporters can now engage in funding specific players, facilities, charity or other fundraising causes through an interactive money raiser. The supporters can follow how the funding progresses, and can identify themselves to the specific cause that they are contributing to.

During 2015 the SocialCee Crowdfunding solution generated approx. 0,5 million € to Norwegian clubs like; Elverum Håndball (Champions Leauge), Lillestrøm Fotball (Norwegian Premier League), ØIF Arendal (Handball), Stjernen Hockey, and others.

The campaigns can also be delivered with an integrated payment solution.
